I’ve shot Justin & Pui Gin ROM at Thean Hou Temple last week. Here are some of the shots.

Thean Hou Temple was where Justin and Pui Gin had their ROM.

“Contract of a life time”

ROM in Thean Hou Temple always like a turbo charged session. From walking into the room until signing of the marriage certs and finishing everything was just 10-15 mins.

After the registration, we have some spare time before their luncheon at Justin’s house. So we go around the temple and shot a few shots.

Justin and Pui Gin are one sweet couple. They are so friendly and nice. Once again, congratulation on your marriage.

I was experimenting with some PP tips that MunKeat shared with me. So here’s one photo for now. Hope can share more soon.

The first unconference SHOOTfest was held on 6th & 7th June 2009.

So you might ask what is SHOOTfest all about especially the term ‘unconference’. In short it was an event for photographers and videographers to gather and share anything in a semi-formal way. For more information head over to SHOOTfest official website.

I attended the event with the intention to make new friends, learn from others and share with others of what I know. It was a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, I was only able to attend Day 1 of SHOOTfest because I was not free on the next day.

I have captured some photos on the day and as the spirit of SHOOTfest, I would like to share with all of you.

I was greeted by a beautiful sky while heading out to SHOOTfest that morning.

Eeyern & Andy Chin were there at the main entrance of Integricity and were responsible for registration and distribution of SHOOTfest T-Shirt.

For those for who forgot to bring the own (recycled) name tag… like me, SHOOTfest organizer is kind enough to borrow us some. Thanks a lot.

This is the task that photogs seldom do.

Fiona was the first speaker of the day. She came early to prepare the laptop and slides.

Ben sitting there alone on the couch. Most probably tweetering. Haha!

Inside is the office of Integricity. Want to know what were they doing inside in a non-working day?

Zach was interested to know too.

Ahh… The speakers were busy giving the final touch to their presentation slides.

Grace was one of the lovely organizers of SHOOTfest. She really did a good job for the event.

Mun Tzin became the Starbucks delivery girl.

Everybody was socializing around while waiting for the event to start.

They are among approx 100 participants of the first SHOOTfest.

We were well taken care of at the SHOOTfest with all the great foods and drinks.

Integricity has a foosball game in their office. So cool.

Grace was asking who didn’t have a name tag. They can loan from her.

The organizer was kind enough to provide free WiFi access for the participants.

The first activity of the event was something called Human-Bingo. There were 5×5 grid of questions where we need to ask around and see who fit in which grid line. When you have 5 consecutive names, you can shout BINGO and you are the winner. Fun game.

Fiona presentation topic was "Why’s your bag so HEAVY?". I learn about what other photogs have in their camera bag.

All participants were paying attention to what Fiona was sharing.

Next presenter was Eeyern. He discussed about the most commonly ask topic, "To Be or Not to Be? Turning Pro". Many photogs have this dilemma, including me.

Eeyern has invited Jon Low (IdealWedding), Edwin Tan (Exes Studio) and Fiona Lim (Fifoto) to share their experience of being a professional photographers.

Fiona was having a thoughtful moment while listening to Jon’s sharing.

Of course there were many shooters in the SHOOTfest since it was a photographers and videographers gathering.

In the other session just next room, Kee Sit was giving talk on Videography.

The good thing about unconference SHOOTfest was it’s a free and easy event. We can even have their comfort on the beanbag.

Dennis Thean from Pretty in White were sharing smart partnership.

We try to absorb as much knowledge as possible.

Kenneth was the speaker for Photojournalism in Wedding Photography.

Photographer really can’t stop shooting. They will shoot with whatever tools in their hand… even an iPhone.

Not sure where they were doing. Most probably talking some thing about mic?

Pecha Kucha session. Woody was the first to share in this session. He showed us the world in less than 3 mins.

Each person was given 20 seconds per photo during the Pecha Kucha session.

Grace can tell you 20s per photo is really not enough. By the way, nice sharing on the Bangladesh Wedding shoot.

Eeyern was talking about his own wedding. He talked about the Dos and Donts in a wedding… in a hilarious way.

Kee Sit shared about the importance on videography.

Finally Day 1 of SHOOTfest.001 ended around 7pm. Thanks to all the organizers (Grace, Zach, Jon Low, Kee Sit, Eeyern, Zach, Mark, Mun Tzin, Andy Chin, Mun Keat and many more) for making SHOOTfest.001 – The Wedding possible.

It was my pleasure to meet all of you in SHOOTfest.001. It was a great and fun experience for me. I am really looking forward for SHOOTfest.002. I’m sure it will be another blast.
